Trained in Corporeal Mime for four years from 1976 with Desmond Jones (Etienne Decroux developed this technique and taught it to Marcel Marceau and later on to Desmond).
Workshops in Physical Theatre with Lindsay Kemp (tutor to David Bowie and Kate Bush) and Theatre Du Movement.
Formed a Mime company named ‘Silents’ with Desmond Jones and others in 1978. Performed two years running at the International Mime Festival at the Cockpit Theatre in London, as well as shows at the Arts Theatre, Battersea Arts Centre, Theatre Space etc.
Toured solo Mime show ‘Drawing in Space’ in the UK from 1978 to 1979. Appeared as a Mime on the children’s TV shows “Rainbow” and “We’ll Tell You A Story.”
Formed a Mime/music/dance theatre group called ‘Shock’ in 1979. Performed extensively in the UK, New York, Europe and Thailand.
Created a Mime/ music duo called 'Tik & Tok' in 1980. Performed live all over the UK released 5 singles and an album. Appeared on 23 TV shows (including The Royal Variety Performance in 1983 in front of HRH Queen Elizabeth). Supported pop stars such as Gary Numan, Duran Duran and Ultravox. As a direct result of their Mime training TIK & TOK landed featured roles in the third ‘Star Wars’ movie “Return Of The Jedi” in 1982
